Travelling into the Resorts

Road Closures : On busy weekends the road into Perisher Resort is often closed due to the carpark becoming full. You have other options but you should plan ahead.

drive

When the weather is clear the drives to Perisher, Thredbo and Mt Selwyn are very scenic and enjoyable and safe. However when the weather comes in or if there is snow and ice on the road it becomes treacherous and there are many car accidents. You should check the weather reports before you leave.

National Park Entry Cost : $29 per car

Chains : All 2WD cars need to carry snow chains $30 for 1 day rental. 4WD and AWD cars are exempt however chains are still recommended on snowy days for 4WD/AWD cars.
